The Secondary Education Department of Assam has started the online registration process for Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) 2020. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for Higher Secondary (HS) level TET exam for Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) from Friday, November 20.
The registration can be done by visiting ssa.assam.gov.in. The last date to apply is November 30 and the last date to pay the application fee is December 3, 2020. According to the official notice the Assam TET 2020 will be conducted on January 10, 2021.
Eligibility critera
- Every candidate must have a post-graduation degree with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from any recognized university.
- They must hold Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree issued by the National Council for Teachers’ Education or any other recognized institution.
It is to be noted that degrees obtained from distance education institutions shall not be considered as valid. Candidates are advised to thoroughly go through the official notice for detailed guidelines regarding the same.

Follow these steps to apply for the Assam TET 2020:
Step 1: Visit the official site of Secondary Education Department, Government of Assam at ssa.assam.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the ‘Teacher Eligibility Test’ tab on the homepage
Step 3: Now click on the link that reads: ‘Click here to apply Online’
Step 4: You will be redirected to another webpage where you need to register yourself
Step 5: Enter personal details and upload photograph
Step 6: After registration, candidates need to login using Application number or Username and Password
Step 7: Pay the examination fee and click on ‘Submit’
While the application fee is Rs 500 for general category candidates, it is Rs 300 for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC and PwD candidates. Fee can be paid in the online mode only.
