Agartala: As the opposition TIPRA Motha has officially entered into the ruling coalition led by BJP in Tripura, a reversal of roles is also slated to come into effect in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council.
The Bharatiya Janata Party-led opposition bench in the Tribal District Council is slated to join the treasury bench. Consequently, the TTAADC council is now set to become opposition-less, a senior BJP leader informed EastMojo.
“No talks have taken place so far in this regard, but we shall sit together very shortly to have talks on the matter. Since TIPRA has already entered into the ruling coalition, both the parties have become natural allies in all political institutions unless and until elections are fought sans any pre-poll agreement,” a senior functionary of the BJP has said.
The announcement is likely to be made before the next session of TTAADC. “The budget session of the TTAADC has just ended. We hope the Chief Executive Member will make the announcements ahead of the next session. Some MDCs could also be made Executive Members in the cabinet led by CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia,” said a source.
