The first time in history, the Paralympic Games were held without any stadium in Paris. The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games opened with an unprecedented opening ceremony in the heart of Paris on the Place de la Concorde, which was transformed for one evening only into a magnificent open-air arena.

The ceremony began with the parade of athletes from 168 delegations, who made their way around the Obelisk from the bottom of the Champs-Elysées.
