Both NorthEast United FC and FC Goa are expected to go all guns blazing, looking for their first win of the season when they clash against each other in Match 17 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Saturday. The match will start at 7:30 PM IST. It will be telecast live on the Star Sports Network, Hotstar and Jio TV.

Both the teams have had a terrible season so far. The Highlanders have managed a draw and two losses from their first three games and have just 1 point in their kitty. The Gaurs, meanwhile, have lost both the games and are yet to score a point.

Both the teams have not been able to play to their potential and will be looking to bring their top game today. Poor finishing and injury concerns have been some key reasons for the below par performance. In what has come as a huge blow, NEUFC’s star player Federico Gallego will not be able to participate any further in the remaining matches of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) due to a knee injury.

Speaking on his injury, NEUFC Head Coach Khalid Jamil said, “We will definitely miss Gallego. He is a quality player. But we won’t make any excuses. We are preparing another option. We have Pragyan, Sehnaj and Imran, who is back in the squad after missing two games due to injury.”

All eyes will be on Khassa Camara and Mathias Coureur as they look to revive NEUFC’s fortunes. If we look at the Head to Head record, it has not been great for the North eastern side. FC Goa have defeated NEUFC five times while The Highlanders have been able to win three of them.
