The Tokyo Paralympics are set to begin on August 24, 2021, in Tokyo. The quadrennial event is planned to go until September 5, 2021, with para-athletes from all around the world anticipated to attend.
India is sending a huge 54-athlete team to the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, following its successful campaign in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics.
This is the largest delegation India has ever sent to the Paralympics, and they will compete in nine different sports, including running, shooting, swimming, and others.
Mariyappan Thangavelu, the 2016 high jump gold medalist, will be the country’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
In addition, the Indian team includes seasoned athletes such as Devendra Jhajharia, a two-time Paralympic javelin winner, Ekta Bhyan, and Pramod Bhagat, among others.

Eurosport will broadcast the Tokyo Paralympics in India. In addition, Doordarshan Sports is anticipated to broadcast any matches in the country involving Indian interests.
