Guwahati: In a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19, Sikkim government has imposed a total lockdown of one week across the state, effective from July 21 to 27. Also, night curfew has been imposed from 7.30 pm to 6 am.
An order from the home department of Sikkim said all government offices, shops, commercial establishments, institutions, markets and factories shall remain closed, except where a specific exemption is granted.
All activities and movement of persons, goods and passenger vehicles have been restricted, except the following:

Movement of people and vehicle including vehicles required for supply of essential goods.

Shops dealing in essential items shall remain open from 8 am to 5 pm daily. Medical shops shall remain open till 7 pm.

Movement of people and vehicle required for maintenance of all essential services like hospital, banks, power supply, media personnel etc. They should have an ID card/ deployment letter on them at all times.

Movement of people and vehicles , including private vehicles and taxis, required in case of medical emergency shall be allowed.

For inter-state movement, people, passengers and goods vehcles only for essential goods and supplies will be authorities, or in case of medical emergencies.

For occasions like marriage and funerals, not more than 20 people shall be allowed, with proper intimation to the local police.

MGNERGA work, agricultural, horticultural and animal husbandry related activities in rual area, observing social distancing.

However, all educational, training and coaching institutions shall remain closed till August 31.
Sikkim has so far reported 283 cases of COVID-19, of which, 193 are active cases, 90 have been cured and two have migrated to other states.
