Gangtok: Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Golay and all his family members gave COVID-19 test samples on Thursday to a team of urban sampling team. This comes days after Golay had announced compulsory COVID-19 tests for all ministers, after one of them had come in close contact with a positive patient from Rongli in East Sikkim.
RTPCR test was conducted on him and his family members including son and Soreng-Chakung MLA Aditya Golay, wife Sarda Tamang, and security personnel and all staff at his residence in Lumsey, Gangtok.
In total, 95 samples were collected by the team led by Sampling Incharge Dr Kunzang Lepcha, Medical Officer from Urban PHC, Old STNM, Gangtok under the guidance of Health Authority, STNM Hospital.
A team of Gangtok Municipal Corporation led by Senior Supervisor RP Subba was also present to sanitize the premises. Chief minister congratulated the team and expressed gratitude to the entire team of health workers and the COVID-19 warriors for their selfless dedication and uninterrupted service.
