A group of doctors and students from the IAAMC and PIMCH of USTM took part in a grand celebration of National Doctors’ Day on July 1. The event was marked by the cutting of a cake, lively songs, and insightful speeches on the significance of Doctors’ Day.

The program began with a speech from Prof. R.K. Sharma, Principal of IAAMC, who emphasised the importance of the day and the legacy of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. This was followed by a speech from Dr. Anil Kumar Sarma, Advisor of IAAMC, who highlighted Dr. Roy’s remarkable life and achievements, and a speech from Dr. Barnali Das, Deputy Medical Superintendent of the University Hospital of Ayurveda and Naturopathy.

The celebrations at PIMCH were equally fervent, with Prof. G.D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of USTM, and Prof. Dr. Biraj Kumar Das, Principal of PIMCH, delivering speeches that emphasised the crucial role of medical professionals in society. Prof. Sharma expressed his gratitude to the doctors for their unwavering service and dedication, especially in difficult times.

PIMCH students were also inspired by Dr. Roy’s life and achievements by Prof. Dr. Biraj Kumar Das, Principal of PIMCH. Dr. Das encouraged the young medical students to draw inspiration from Dr. Roy’s life and strive for excellence in their careers. The celebrations ended with a sense of pride and unity among the medical fraternity at USTM.

The day served as a reminder of the noble profession of medicine and the tireless efforts of doctors who work tirelessly to ensure the well-being of society. The event emphasised the commitment of IAAMC and PIMCH to producing dedicated and compassionate doctors who will continue the legacy of great medical professionals like Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.
