Five candidates who have cleared NEET-UG 2026 have an opportunity to secure MBBS admission at Helen Lepcha Sikkim Government Medical College in Gangtok for the 2026–27 academic year.
The Sikkim government has invited applications for the five available Society Seats. The application window, which opened on September 23, will remain open until noon on September 30.
The seats are part of the MBBS programme at HLSGMC, Sikkim’s first government medical college.
Located in Gangtok, the institution was established through a joint initiative of the Centre and the Sikkim government. Its stated objectives include increasing access to affordable medical education and contributing to the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
The college honours Helen Lepcha, popularly remembered as Savitri Devi. Born in 1902 at Sangmoo in South Sikkim, Lepcha was a noted freedom fighter whose legacy is associated with service and social welfare.
Candidates who have qualified NEET-UG 2026 and meet the eligibility requirements can apply for the five seats.
