Amrit Bharat Express trains have been introduced for regular operation under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), expanding long-distance rail connectivity across several regions of India. The services are scheduled to operate weekly on multiple routes, linking the Northeast with key destinations in eastern, northern and southern India.
Train No. 15949/15950, running between Dibrugarh and Gomti Nagar, will operate on a weekly basis. The service from Dibrugarh will begin on January 30, 2026, departing at 21:00 every Friday, while the return journey from Gomti Nagar will commence on February 1, departing at 18:40 every Sunday. The train will stop at stations including Moranhat, Simaluguri, Mariani, Furkating, Dimapur, Diphu, Lumding, Guwahati, Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Alipurduar, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Barauni, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya Dham Junction and Barabanki.
Another weekly service, Train No. 16597/16598, will operate between SMVT Bengaluru and Alipurduar. The Bengaluru-bound service will commence on January 24, departing at 08:50 every Saturday, while the return journey from Alipurduar will begin on January 26, departing at 22:25 every Monday. Stoppages along this route include Katpadi, Renigunta, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kharagpur, Barddhaman, Malda Town and New Jalpaiguri.

Train No. 20604/20603, operating between Nagercoil and New Jalpaiguri, will also run weekly. The service from Nagercoil will commence on January 25, departing at 23:00 every Sunday, while the return journey from New Jalpaiguri will start on January 28, departing at 16:45 every Wednesday. The train will stop at Madurai, Pollachi, Erode, Katpadi, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kharagpur, Malda Town and Kishanganj.
Another weekly Amrit Bharat Express, Train No. 20610/20609, will operate between Tiruchchirappalli and New Jalpaiguri. The Tiruchchirappalli-bound service will begin on January 28, departing at 05:45 every Wednesday, while the return journey from New Jalpaiguri will commence on January 30, departing at 16:45 every Friday. Stoppages include Tambaram, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Cuttack, Kharagpur, Malda Town, Barsoi and Kishanganj.
Train No. 15671/15672, running between Kamakhya and Rohtak, will also operate weekly. The service from Kamakhya will commence on January 30, departing at 22:00 every Friday, while the return journey from Rohtak will begin on February 1, departing at 22:10 every Sunday. The train will halt at Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Katihar, Khagaria, Barauni, Sonpur, Aunrihar, Prayagraj and Delhi.
According to the railway authorities, all Amrit Bharat Express services will operate with 22-coach modern rakes, aimed at providing improved passenger amenities while maintaining affordable fare structures. The introduction of regular services under NFR adds to the existing rail network connecting the Northeast with other parts of the country.
