Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) will conclude its month-long mass outreach and consultation campaign, ‘Raijor Podulit Raijor Congress’, with a three-day programme in Guwahati from January 10 to 12, party leaders said.
Launched in early December 2025, the campaign was aimed at taking political engagement beyond closed-door meetings and directly into communities across the state. Congress leaders travelled to districts and sub-divisions to gather public feedback on governance issues, policy priorities, and local concerns.
According to the APCC, the Guwahati event will bring together representatives from a wide range of civil society groups that participated in the consultations, including student organisations, trade unions, professional bodies, minority groups, women’s collectives, environmental organisations, cultural forums, business chambers, and citizen platforms.
Party leaders said the culmination programme is intended not only as a closing event but as a platform to publicly reflect on the feedback gathered during the outreach.
Over the past month, five consultation teams led by senior Congress leaders conducted day-long interactions across Upper Assam, Central Assam, Barak Valley, Bodoland, and the hill districts. The teams engaged with farmers, tea garden workers, students, women’s groups, minority communities, and other local stakeholders. Leaders including Gaurav Gogoi, Debabrata Saikia, Bhupen Bora, Rakibul Hussain, and Ripun Bora led these engagements across different regions of the state.
The inputs collected during the consultations are being consolidated as part of a manifesto-building exercise led by Pradyut Bordoloi, Chairman of the party’s Manifesto Committee. Party sources said the feedback is being translated into a draft policy framework.
During the Guwahati programme, civil society groups and mass organisations are expected to review the emerging draft, raise concerns, and offer final suggestions. The APCC said the exercise reflects its emphasis on participatory politics, with the party seeking to shape its political roadmap through public consultation rather than top-down decision-making.
