Kohima: The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem (NCS), has announced that a State Mega Legal Services Programme will be held on April 12, 2025, at the NBCC Convention Hall in Kohima.

The event, scheduled from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM, aims to create widespread awareness on welfare legislations and government schemes, while also addressing the legal needs of the people through expert advice and support.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that the programme will be attended by dignitaries including Judges of the Supreme Court of India, the Minister of State for Law & Justice, Government of India, and Judges of the Gauhati High Court.

The initiative seeks to bridge gaps between citizens and existing welfare mechanisms by facilitating access to legal entitlements and providing appropriate legal guidance. It is part of a larger nationwide effort to ensure that legal services and rights reach every section of society.

In light of the significance of the event, all Village Councils, Village Development Board Management Committees, Women Organisations, Youth Organisations, and Ward authorities within Kohima district have been requested to mobilise participants from their respective areas to attend the programme.

Organisers have also announced that dinner will be provided for all attendees. For transportation arrangements or other logistical support, participants and functionaries have been asked to contact Vizapale at 9615629285.
