Boko: The RHAC Congress Coordination Committee and the Rabha National Youth Council (RNYC) each staged separate protests in Boko, Assam, on Thursday, demanding justice for the recent arson attack on the Boko Coaching Academy.
The Boko Coaching Academy, established by Ranjan Rabha in Dakuapara village, Boko, was the site of a recent controversy. On September 10, Rabha organised a press conference at the academy to disclose the identity of RHAC Chief Tankeswar Rabha.
Following the press meet, the academy was entirely destroyed by fire on September 12 under unexplained circumstances. Ranjan Rabha has accused miscreants associated with Tankeswar Rabha of orchestrating the arson. In response, the Boko Police have registered case 415/24 under Section 326 (g) BNS, and the investigation is ongoing.
Ashok Rabha, General Secretary of the RNYC, stated that the council held a protest demanding justice for the Boko Coaching Academy incident. The RNYC has called for the immediate arrest of those responsible for the arson and condemned the attack on educational institutions. They have also urged the government to take preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
Ashok Rabha also accused RHAC Chief Tankeswar Rabha and some of his associates of violating several constitutional rights, including Article 19 (A) concerning freedom of speech and expression, Article 19 (G) on the practice of any profession, and Article 29 regarding the fundamental rights to education and the establishment of educational institutions. He urged the Assam Chief Minister, on behalf of the RNYC, to take legal action against those involved in the incident.
Meanwhile, the RHAC Congress Coordination Committee organized a protest rally from Boko Rajiv Bhawan to the Boko Circle office. They also submitted a memorandum to the Assam DGP and Chief Secretary, demanding the arrest of RHAC Chief Tankeswar Rabha and his alleged accomplices involved in the arson incident.

Pranay Rabha, President of the RHAC Congress Coordination Committee, alleged that Ranjan Rabha had exposed the true identity of RHAC Chief Tankeswar Rabha, claiming that Tankeswar’s title is fraudulent and that his actual title is ‘Sarania.’ Ranjan Rabha has also filed a case in the High Court regarding this matter. According to Pranay Rabha, the arson incident was an act of revenge by Tankeswar Rabha in response to the exposure.
Therefore, Pranay Rabha urged the state government to take necessary action against those responsible for the arson at the academy and to investigate the legitimacy of RHAC Chief Tankeswar Rabha’s title.
