As the world celebrates the annual World Environment Day, the Gurukul Moranhat school has taken part in various activities to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection and the need for restoration efforts.
Students from Study Centre 5 to 8 took to the streets of Moranhat town in a vibrant procession, carrying banners and chanting slogans highlighting the importance of environmental protection. This public display aimed to raise awareness among the community about the pressing issues of land degradation and the need for restoration efforts.
As part of the activities, a tree-planting ceremony was also held within the school premises by Study Centre 3 and 4 students, where they learned the importance of nurturing the environment and contributing to a greener future by getting their hands dirty and planting saplings.
It was also part of the initiative to encourage students to express their ideas and concerns about environmental issues in a creative manner through a painting and essay competition. This outlet provided an opportunity for students to develop critical thinking and communication skills.
The procession and tree-planting ceremony not only served as a symbolic gesture, but it also provided an opportunity for students to distribute saplings to the Moran town community, thereby encouraging them to participate in the act of planting and contribute to the local environmental restoration efforts.
