Guwahati: Fatima Khatoon, a young woman from Gangtok, Sikkim, has made a remarkable achievement by becoming the youngest cabin crew member at IndiGo.
With just six months on the job, Fatima has already gained invaluable experience and confidence, showcasing her dedication and passion for the aviation industry.
Fatima’s journey began when she was selected during her first interview with IndiGo. “I was very nervous and thought I wouldn’t be selected, but I did it,” she recalled.
Since then, she has immersed herself in learning about DGCA regulations, customer service, and other essential skills required for her role.
“People often say that being a cabin crew member is easy, but it is far more challenging than they think. We face many difficulties, such as handling emergency situations, managing medical emergencies, and remaining patient and calm with passengers,” Fatima explains.
Despite the challenges, her experience at IndiGo has been overwhelmingly positive, thanks to the support and guidance of her mentors and colleagues.
“I still remember my first flight; I was so nervous, but everyone helped me a lot. They are all so kind and helpful,” she says, expressing gratitude for the supportive environment at IndiGo. The airline’s commitment to empowering women and fostering a positive workplace culture has played a significant role in her growth.
