A two-day conclave titled Young Pharmacologists: Conclave for Fostering Research and Innovation, organised by the Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS) in collaboration with the Royal School of Pharmacy (RSP), Royal Global University, Guwahati, brought together young pharmacologists from across the country.
The conclave began with a speech by Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Singh, Vice Chancellor of The Assam Royal Global University, followed by Dr. Ramesh Chandra Deka, Former Director of AIIMS, New Delhi. The other dignitaries who were present on the occasion included Prof. U.S.N. Murty, Director of NIPER, Guwahati, Dr. Shiv Prakash Rathnam, President of IPS, and Dr. B. Kala Kumar, General Secretary of IPS.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was followed by the delivery of insightful welcome speeches by Dr. Shiv Prakash Rathnam and Dr. B. Kala Kumar. Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Singh and Prof. U.S.N. Murty also delivered keynotes, sharing their vision for the future of the pharmaceutical industry in India. The dignitaries were also honoured with traditional gamugas and mementos by the IPS, for their significant contributions to the field.
A technical session on Trailblazing Trials: Steering through India’s Regulatory Terrain was delivered by Dr. Sumalya Sen, followed by Dr. Bhabatosh Das on Antibiotic Resistance: Real-World Situation and Clinical Pharmacological Reconciliation Review and Feedback in Geriatric Care. The sessions were chaired by eminent scholars Dr. Mojibur Khan, Dr. Joonmoni Lahon, and Dr. Yogesh Kulkarni, which created an atmosphere of collaborative learning and exchange of ideas.
Another session focused on the Scope of Nano-formulations for brain-targeted drug delivery, which was presented by Dr. Praveen TK. The session on Targeting Drug Wnt/β-catenin pathway for ameliorating lung and liver disorders using natural compounds was delivered by Dr. Ashish Kumar Kakkar.
The two-day conclave ended on a note of celebration and accomplishment, with the presentation of Excellence Awards to the Honourable Vice Chancellor of the Royal Global University by the Indian Pharmacological Society.
