A three-day legal extravaganza, the first edition of the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Moot Court Competition 2024, has been inaugurated by Justice H.S. Thangkhiew, Hon’ble Judge, High Court of Meghalaya, at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM).
The competition is a platform that provides an opportunity to law students to hone their skills, develop their confidence, and learn the importance of teamwork and critical thinking. The competition is open to students from various reputed institutions across the country, including Symbiosis Law School from Pune, Techno Indian University from West Bengal, Christ University from Bengaluru, and North Eastern Hill University from Shillong.

He urged the students to work hard and never give up, and expressed confidence that they would emerge victorious through their efforts and dedication.
The inaugural ceremony was marked by the handing over of trophies and certificates to the teams by the dignitaries. The closing ceremony, which was also held on the same day, saw the announcement of the winners of the competition. Prizes worth Rs. 61,000 were awarded to the winning team, while the runners-up will receive Rs. 15,000 cash prizes, certificates, and mementos.
The National Moot Court Competition 2024 is a significant initiative that will provide an opportunity for law students to explore and enhance their skills, knowledge, and experience. The competition is also a testament to the importance of legal education and the role of moot courts in promoting an understanding of law and justice.
