Kohima: Two cadres of the NSCN-K (Khango) were apprehended by the Nagaland police and the security forces in a joint operation on charges of extortion in the state’s capital Kohima.
The joint operation was launched at the General Area Kezieke Market in Kohima town on Sunday, informed defence PRO Sumit Sharma.
The two cadres of the NSCN-K (Khango) identified as self-styled captain Poangba Konyak and self-styled sergeant major Pongkhao Konyak.
The two were reportedly involved in extortion activities at Kezieke market. The police and the security forces recovered five extortion slips and Rs 6,160 in cash.
The apprehended cadres along with the recovered items were handed over to Kohima North Police Station for further investigation.
