The coronavirus pandemic has left us boxed up in or homes for months. With things opening back again, the risk of contracting the virus is not gone. So in case you are travelling, being cautious and mindful is important. Need a comprehensive guide? Here it is: 5 things to keep in mind while travelling during coronavirus pandemic
1. Make a list of travel essentials
Be it catching a flight or shifting to a new city, we now need a new list of essentials at the time of travelling. Before heading out, make a list and cross check if you have them all marked. To be safe, you need to carry a hand sanitiser (with more than 60 per cent alcohol content), disinfectant wipes, tissues and face masks.
2. Wash hands regularly
One of the basic guidelines at place to stop the transmission of the water droplets from one person to another involves washing hands with soap regularly. While travelling, you might not find good and trustable soap at places, so carrying a liquid soap bottle is a good idea.
3. Be mindful of the water and food
Consuming anything outside poses danger. While it is advisable to skip eating food while out, one needs to at least drink water or have something when out for longer durations. Make sure to go for bottled water, better if you carry your own bottle. For food, check if the makers are following all the safety protocols and if they are serving fresh food.
4. Keep distance from people
While travelling, you have no idea who might carry the virus so keeping a social distance is mandatory. While walking down the streets, steer clear of crowded places and wait for the rush to pass while departing or boarding a flight.
5. Clean your surrounding
This involves wiping the cab seat, cab’s door handle, hotel’s door and all other frequently touched places clean. As it might be hard to keep your hands off your face consciously at all times, keep the places your hands touch safe.
