Guwahati: Assam recorded 3,266 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, to reach a tally of 1,09,040 cases. The new cases were out of 44,948 tests conducted in 24 hours, taking the positivity in the state to a high of 7.26%.
Kamrup (Metro) saw 700 news cases, followed by Golaghat at 233, Cachar and Jorhat at 189 cases each.
Across the state, 1,531 patients were discharged on Sunday, and 10 people succumbed to COVID-19 related infections. Assam’s recovery rate stands at 78.37%, death rate stands at 0.28%.
Informing about the deceased, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “My deepest condolences to the bereaved families & friends.”

Meanwhile, the state’s overall COVID report stands at 109,040 total cases, 85,458 discharged, 23,273 active cases, 306 deaths and three migrated to other states.
Till 11 pm on Monday night, Assam conducted a total of 22,62,827 COVID-19 sample test. Tests conducted per million population stands at 65,985.
