Guwahati: There’s a piece of good news for India on National Sports Day as World Women Rapid Champion Koneru Humpy led India into finals after beating Poland in a 2-1 Armageddon game win in Chess Olympiad on Saturday.
India won a bronze medal in 2014 and hence the best finish in Chess Olympiad so far. Team India will meet the winners of Russia vs USA on Sunday for the final.

The tournament which is being held online was watched live by over 49k viewers. Earlier, India defeated Armenia in the quaterfinals.
