Aizawl: At least eight people, including a six-year-old girl, have tested positive for novel coronavirus, taking the state’s tally to 657, official sources said.
The girl contracted the virus from a COVID-19 patient, the sources said.
Of the eight new cases, five were reported from Aizawl district, two from Lunglei and one from Kolasib, the sources added.
Apart from the girl, the other seven patients returned from outside.
The number of active cases in the state now stands at 314 while 343 people have already recovered.

The state has not reported any death due to COVID-19 till date.
According to the health department, Aizawl district reported the highest COVID-19 cases at 377, followed by Lunglei at 105.
Siaha, Mamit and Khawzawl districts are COVID-19 free as of now, the department added.

Of the total samples tested, 2.59 per cent was diagnosed with Covid-19. The recovery rate is 52.20 per cent. Two patients have migrated to Assam.
