Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu, who is termed as the most dynamic leader of the state, has astounded once again with his off-roading skills in Tawang. His tweet on Sunday made several rounds over the Internet and later a video, uploaded on his social media page, went viral.

In the video, Khandu is seen driving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) in the treacherous and snow-capped roads of Tawang, which is approximately at an elevation of 3,048 m.
On his Facebook page, Khandu wrote, “Off-roading at 15,600 feet. A 107-km ride from #PTSOLake to #Mago in Tawang district near the India -Tibet/China border.”

Few pictures were also uploaded in which the chief minister is seen sitting inside the ATV with a co-driver.
Union minister of state (independent) for sports Kiren Rijiju, who accompanied Khandu for the adventure sport, tweeted about his experience. “I captured this video while Chief Minister @PemaKhanduBJP ji was driving ATV Polaris crossing above 16,000 feet from PT Tso to Mago in Tawang District, Arunachal Pradesh to meet the Villagers and Jawans and to celebrate Diwali!” he wrote.

The Union minster further wrote that it was “very tough” driving ATV Polaris but chief minister Pema Khandu drove “very fast and beautifully”.
Previously, we could see the chief minister riding a Royal Enfield Interceptor on a mountainous road from Yingkiong to Pasighat (122 km) in 2.5 hours. “An attempt towards promoting #Arunachal as dream destination for #biking and #adventure sports!” he had tweeted then.
“The route offers best picturesque views of the #siang Valley and #Adi villages,” he had written in another tweet.
Khandu also led an 18-km padyatra from Mago to Thingbu village. He was accompanied by Rijiju. The padyatra was organised by the Mukto Mandal of Arunachal Pradesh BJP and was flagged off as Gandhi Sankalp Yatra to reach out to the rural masses. Khandu said development of country will be possible only when villages are developed, said a communiqué from the chief minister’s office.
