Dimapur/Guwahati: A group of kids travelling by the Nagaland Express train from Dimapur to Guwahati had a great time bonding over ‘Badluram ka badan’ — the marching song of Indian Army’s Assam regiment — on Tuesday morning.
This EastMojo correspondent had the privilege to record their rendition of the popular number, and the video is so uplifting.
Here’s the video:

The students are studying at Govt Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and are cadets of 1 Nagaland Air Squadron of Natioanl Cadet Corps (NCC). They were on their way to attend the 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp(CATC) being held in Guwahati, Assam.
Badluram ka badan, the regimental song of the Indian Army, is a tribute to a fallen rifleman Badluram during the World War II. His share of ration after his death helped the regiment survive, when the Japanese surrounded them and cut off supplies.

Here are the lyrics of the song:
Ek khubsurat ladki thi…
Usko dekh ke rifleman…
Chindi khichna bhul gaya…
Havaldar Major dekh liya…
Usko pittu lagaya…
Badluram ek sipahi tha…
Japan war mein …
Quarter master smart tha…
Usne ration nikala…
Badluram ka badan zameen ke niche hain…
Toh humein uska ration milta hain…
Sabaash… hallelujah…
Toh humein uska ration milta hain…
