Kohima: Mez & Co stormed into the final of the 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League – Champions Cup 2026 with a thumping 7–0 win over Vanguard Academy in the second semi-final at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, on Thursday.
The emphatic victory set up a title clash with league champions Sechü Zubza FC, who defeated Tsütuonuomia Youth Organisation (TYO) 3–1 in the first semi-final on August 25. The final will be played on August 29 at 6 pm at the IG Stadium.
Mez & Co dominated the second semi-final and took the lead through Kevizolie Kin in the 28th minute. Vinato Achumi then doubled the advantage in the 47th minute, shortly after the restart.
Kin struck again in the 58th minute to complete his brace before Nisede Peseyie added Mez & Co’s fourth in the 63rd minute.
Petevizo Kezie-o scored two minutes later to further extend the lead, while Vanguard Academy’s Nendy Kath turned the ball into his own net in the 68th minute.
Neihelie J Mepfhüo completed the rout in the 70th minute as Mez & Co sealed a comprehensive 7–0 victory.
The result means Mez & Co will now meet Sechü Zubza FC in the Champions Cup final, setting up a contest between the league champions and the side that secured a dominant semi-final victory.
Sechü Zubza FC had booked their place in the final on August 25 after coming from behind to beat TYO 3–1.
TYO took an early lead through Mhasilhoukho Chietsü in the 13th minute, but Sechü Zubza FC responded strongly after half-time. Aneizo M Suokhrie equalised in the 52nd minute before Pulovi Kiho put SZFC ahead in the 65th minute.
Vikhozoto Zhünyü added a third in the 78th minute to complete the comeback.
The victory continued Sechü Zubza FC’s impressive campaign after they finished the league stage as champions with four wins from four matches.
The Champions Cup final on August 29 will bring the competition to a close, with the closing ceremony to be graced by the President of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and Executive Member of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) as Guest of Honour.
The second semi-final was attended by a delegation from the Chümoukedima District Football Association, led by its president Sedevikho Angami, as the Special Guest.

The second semi-final was officiated by Michael Dul as referee, with Vihetuo Chietsü and Mhasikhonuo Paünuo as assistant referees. Imlimerenla Jamir was the fourth official, while Medozevi Punyü served as Match Commissioner.
The Champions Cup is organised by the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland, at the IG Stadium, Kohima.
