Nagaland Cricket Association announces open trials for 2026–27 season

Kohima: The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has announced open trials for the 2026–27 cricket season across various age-group and senior categories. The trials will be conducted at GNR Ground in Dimapur, beginning June 10.

According to the NCA, aspiring cricketers from across Nagaland are encouraged to participate in the selection process for state teams.

The trial schedule is as follows: Senior Men on June 10; Men Under-19 on June 11 and 12; Boys Under-16 on June 13; Men Under-23 on June 15 and 16; Women Under-15 and Under-19 on June 17; and Women Under-23 and Senior on June 18.

The association has specified the following age criteria. Girls Under-15 players must be born between September 1, 2011, and August 31, 2014. Boys Under-16 players must be born between September 1, 2010, and August 31, 2012. Boys and Girls Under-19 players must be born on or after September 1, 2007. Men and Women Under-23 players must be born on or after September 1, 2003.

All interested players must register through their respective District Cricket Associations. Participants are required to produce a recommendation letter from their District Cricket Association along with original copies of their birth certificate and Aadhaar card for verification during reporting.

For the Girls Under-15, Boys Under-16, and Boys/Girls Under-19 categories, players must additionally submit either three years’ school mark sheets or a school leaving certificate.

The NCA stated that document verification must be completed and certified by the respective District Cricket Associations before the trials.

The reporting time for all categories has been fixed at 8:30 am. A fitness test will form part of the selection process.

Players are required to attend the trials at their own expense and must be dressed in white cricket attire.

The Nagaland Cricket Association said the trials provide a valuable opportunity for talented cricketers across the state to showcase their abilities and compete for selection to represent Nagaland during the 2026–27 season.
