Kohima: A one-day job fair held at the Regional Employment Exchange in Kohima on Friday resulted in 74 candidates being shortlisted for potential employment across various sectors.
The event was organised jointly by the Regional Employment Officer, Kohima; the Sub-Regional Employment Officer (National Career Service for ST/SC), Kohima; and Don Bosco Placement Network (AIDA), Dimapur.
Organisers said the fair aimed to create direct engagement between job seekers and employers, while contributing to Nagaland’s ongoing efforts to promote skill development and reduce unemployment. According to government records, more than 74,500 individuals were registered with Employment Exchanges across the state as of July 2025.
Regional Employment Officer T. Yimlikhumzuk said that seven companies took part in the fair, offering over 500 vacancies both within Nagaland and outside the state. Participating organisations included Reliance Jio, Chilli Breeze, Talent Acquaintance, Kin Ventures, Apex Motors Dimapur, SBI Life (PR Hill Branch), and SBI Life (Secretariat Branch, Kohima).
More than 250 job seekers attended the fair. Feedback from participants and employers was described as positive, with organisers stating that similar initiatives will continue in the effort to support youth employment in Nagaland.
