Kohima: Two students from government schools in Nagaland have been selected to participate in the prestigious Sakura Science High School Program in Japan, an international initiative promoting scientific learning and cultural exchange among young scholars.
The selected students, Shethilu Medeo from Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School in Kohima and Iris Zomawii Lushai from Chümoukedima Government Higher Secondary School, were chosen under the Ministry of Education’s Samagra Shiksha Nagaland program.
They will be accompanied by Gihukali Sema, a Post Graduate Teacher from Chümoukedima Government Higher Secondary School, who will serve as their supervisor during the program.
The Sakura Science High School Program, organised by the Japan Science and Technology Agency with support from India’s Ministry of Education, aims to nurture scientific curiosity and foster international collaboration among high school students.
The week-long program running from June 13 to June 21 will include visits to leading Japanese educational institutions, exposure to cutting-edge scientific innovations, cultural experiences, and opportunities for students to present their ideas.
