Dimapur: In response to allegations made by the NSCN-K (Khango) faction, Aolemba, Chairman of the Country Craft Development Society, has issued a detailed rejoinder categorically denying accusations of wrongdoing concerning the Common Facility Centre (CFC) for the Wooden Furniture Cluster in Dimapur. The claims, published in various print media on December 29, 2024, accused Aolemba of failing to execute the project as per the Detailed Project Report (DPR). The chairman has described these allegations as “unfounded.”
“These allegations necessitate clarification to set the record straight,” Aolemba stated.
The CFC project, initiated under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, is a part of the MSE Cluster Development Program. According to Aolemba, the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, serves as the Nodal Agency, while the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) Ltd., Dimapur, acts as the Implementing Agency.
“The responsibility of the Country Craft Development Society, taking the role as the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), is to manage the day-to-day activities, running, and maintenance of the CFC upon completion of civil works and installation of all machinery,” Aolemba clarified.
He further emphasized his role as a co-promoter and beneficiary of the project, stating, “I, as the Chairman of the Society, am a Co-Promoter/Beneficiary and not the contractor or supplier for this project, contrary to the allegations made against me,” he said.
Aolemba assured that the project is being carried out transparently, adding that all relevant information and updates are readily available with the Nodal and Implementing Agencies of the State Government. “The CFC project is ongoing, and all detailed information about the project and its current status is available with the concerned Nodal Agency and the Implementing Agency of the State Government,” he asserted.
The CFC project, which aims to strengthen the wooden furniture industry in Nagaland, remains under development. While Aolemba has openly addressed the allegations, officials from the Directorate of Industries & Commerce and the NIDC have not issued any comments on the matter.
