Kohima: A landslide occurred at the old Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) dumping site along the Kohima-Dimapur road on NH-29 on Monday evening, disrupting traffic flow.
Official sources confirmed that the landslide occurred around 5:00 pm. A college bus traveling on the affected road became stranded, prompting rescue teams to be swiftly deployed to recover the vehicle.
No casualties were reported. Nagaland has been witnessing multiple landslides on NH-29 due to incessant rains.
In an advisory, Kohima Traffic Police posted on X, urging all light motor vehicles (LMVs) traveling between Kohima and Dimapur to use the Peducha-Tsiesema road, as fresh mudslides in the old KMC Dumping site and the Dzudza bridge area have disrupted traffic on NH-29.
