Dimapur: The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has issued a stern warning against rising cases of impersonation and forced collections being carried out in its name.
The Union expressed shock over reports of individuals soliciting donations under the guise of representing DNSU.
In an official statement, DNSU said, “The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union is appalled to learn that some unscrupulous persons were soliciting donations in the name of our office.” The Union vowed to take strict action against those responsible.
DNSU also raised concerns over complaints from the local community about organizations from outside the Dimapur district engaging in forced donation collections. The Union emphasized its support for local businesses, stating, “When untold miseries are faced by the business community in the form of multiple taxations, DNSU empathizes with them and appeals to different Unions/Organizations to desist from further burdening them.”
In a strong directive, DNSU warned external organizations to cease collecting donations in Dimapur and instead focus on student welfare in their respective areas.
The Union urged the business community to report such incidents directly to the DNSU office. To facilitate this, a grievance cell has been established, with Vice President R. Michael Yanthan serving as the point of contact at 6009812596 or 9862675997.
DNSU reiterated that it will no longer tolerate such activities and called on the business community to report these issues so that appropriate and serious actions can be taken.
