Kohima: The Office Complex of the Chief Veterinary Officer & Veterinary Hospital in Tseminyu was officially inaugurated on Thursday by Kazheto Kinimi, the Advisor for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services.
The ceremony saw the presence of MLA and Chairman DPDB Tseminyu, Ar. Jwenga Seb, and other officials.
In his address, Advisor Kinimi expressed the department’s pride in delivering the new office complex to the people of Tseminyu. He urged the community to take ownership of the infrastructure, emphasising its potential to bolster dairy farming in Nagaland.
He said that dairy farming can provide gainful employment to various sections of society and make the State self-sufficient in milk production, egg production, poultry, livestock, and meat production.
Kinimi highlighted the importance of the new veterinary hospital, noting that it would lead to improved care and health of livestock and poultry, resulting in better productivity and income for farmers.

He appealed for cooperation between authorities, public leaders, and citizens to ensure the hospital’s success. He also congratulated the department, its engineering wing, the contractor, MLA Jwenga Seb, and former MLA & Advisor of the department, R. Khing, for their efforts in bringing the project to fruition.
Kinimi expressed his hope that Tseminyu, as the newest and youngest district of the state, would set a precedent for other districts to follow.
The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Achila Ao, Director of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services. Short speeches were also delivered by MLA Jwenga Seb and DC Tseminyu, Rohit Singh, IAS. The programme was chaired by Dr. Gwathonlo Tsela, VAS Tseminyu, and concluded with words of gratitude from Dr. Kenalo Kath, in charge of CVO Tseminyu.
