Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday introduced a resolution to regularise employees of the Group A, B, C and D posts appointed prior to June 6, 2016.
During the third day of the ongoing state Assembly, Rio said that Nagaland, being a welfare state, is responsible to provide basic econi=omic survey to the citizens and to protect the livelihood of the employees working in any department.
The chief minister noted the Cabinet decision vide CAB-1/14/2023, dated 9th February, 2024 where it was resolved to adopt a resolution to regularise the employees, appointed prior to 6th June 2016 for the four groups.
The appointments made against the sanctioned posts at the time of their appointment, having completed 10 years of service under the State Government and whose appointments are not subjudice, be considered for regularisation.
The resolution was introduced to adopt a policy to carry out a one-time exercise for regularisation of Group A & B, C & D employees appointed on contractual or ad-hoc basis against sanctioned posts prior to the mentioned date and completed 10 years of service.

The government recommended the conduct of a suitability test to regularise the employees against their post, if these employees fulfill all the criteria as laid down in the Policy.
The resolution is scheduled to be passed by the 60-member legislative Assembly on Friday.
