Aizawl: The Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) has recorded the highest number of corruption-related cases registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mizoram, between 2010 and 2026, according to an analysis by the Bureau that was shared by social media-based news platform Mizoram Click. The analysis shows that CADC accounted for 11 cases during the period, the highest among all government departments and organisations in the state.
Village Councils ranked second with nine cases, followed by the Public Works Department (PWD) with six cases. The Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) and the Rural Development Department recorded five cases each, placing them among the departments and organisations with the highest number of cases investigated by the ACB.
According to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, the registered cases involve allegations of corruption, misuse of official position, financial irregularities, procedural violations, and other forms of misconduct.
The Bureau said departments responsible for public works, development schemes, procurement, financial transactions, and services involving extensive public interaction are generally more prone to complaints and investigations because of the nature of their functions.
The findings are based on corruption cases registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau between 2010 and 2026 and form part of its analysis of corruption trends across government departments and organisations in Mizoram.
