Aizawl: Acting on specific intelligence inputs about the movement of contraband items across the Indo-Myanmar border, a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) was established by the Assam Rifles on June 21 at around 3:30 PM along the Tuipang–Zawngling Road in Mizoram’s Siaha district.

On June 22 at approximately 11:30 AM, Assam Rifles personnel intercepted a suspect at the MVCP. Upon conducting a thorough search, the team recovered three tiger canine teeth valued at around ₹4.5 lakh, 150 grams of gunpowder, and seven shotgun cartridge primers.

The apprehended individual has been identified as K.T. Beirahu, son of Heilao, a resident of Siaha, Mizoram. He was taken into custody for further questioning.

The recovered items, along with the apprehended individual, have been handed over to Tuipang Police Station, Siaha District, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
