Aizawl: The Mizoram government has outstanding dues of electricity bills amounting to over Rs 132 crore to be paid to power companies from where the state purchases power, state power and electricity minister R. Lalzirliana said.

The minister informed the state assembly on Tuesday that some consumers paid power bills irregularly while others did regularly. He said that the total outstanding dues to be paid to power companies as on February 11 was Rs. 132.50 crore.

He said that power bill amounting to Rs 96.55 crore is yet to be paid to the state government by consumers for the fiscal 2020-2021 and another Rs 99.54 crore is also pending with consumers for the current fiscal till September last year.
