Shillong: Heavy rains triggered by Cyclone Remal continues to wreak havoc in Meghalaya’s Nongpriang, Shella block, killing one and three others missing who are feared dead.
It was after a massive landslide washed away two houses early Thursday.
The deceased, identified as Phisar Nongrum (75), and the three missing persons, who belonged to the same family, are identified as Kynmaw Synnai (70), Denti Riahtam (60), and a teenager, Lumlang Riahtam (16).

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma informed through X, that he has directed the administration to immediately release the ex-gratia to the next of kin.
“Sad to hear the news of four of our citizens who are feared dead in a massive landslide at Nongpriang, Shella block. Body of one victim has been found, search operation is ongoing,’ said Sangma.
