In a mission to inspire, empower, and support young changemakers, two impact philanthropists, Hasina Kharbhih, the Founder of Impulse NGO Network, and Carlos Navarro Martinez, a climate advocate, have joined forces under the banner of ‘Journey With Purpose’.
The duo, along with other philanthropists from various countries, commenced a 9-day journey from Shillong, Meghalaya, to Pokhara, Nepal. Carlos Navarro Martinez, championing climate justice, and Hasina Kharbhih, focusing on combating unsafe migration, felt compelled to embark on this journey, urging interested individuals to join them.
A gathering on April 2 brought together riders, innovators, and others at Annesville, Upper Shillong. Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh graced the event, engaging with philanthropists from diverse backgrounds.
During the gathering, Hasina Kharbhih expressed her commitment to exploring innovations by young millennials and their potential to challenge existing ecosystems. She highlighted the significance of these innovations in addressing climate impact and mitigating migration issues, drawing from correlated experiences.
Maria Zapata, representing the organization Ashoka, underscored the need for innovation and entrepreneurship in the social sector to foster thriving communities.
Royal Enfield is collaborating on this journey, with two riders participating in ‘Journey with Purpose’.
The ride commenced on Wednesday from Shillong, with the first stop planned at Impulse Empower Village, followed by a tree planting activity at Panbari Kaziranga Impulse Empower Artisan Village.
On April 5, the Royal Enfield team will introduce their innovation aimed at supporting the textile traditions of the Boro community from Bongaigaon, Assam.
The ‘Journey with Purpose Ride East 2024’ is slated to conclude in Nepal on April 9.
