Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Thursday chaired a Security Coordination Meeting to review the prevailing law and order situation in the state.
The meeting was held at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal.
Officials discussed measures to maintain law and order, including the identification of newly vulnerable areas and the deployment of security personnel in those areas, if required, in the interest of the people.
With the working season approaching, authorities of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and contractors are preparing to intensify construction activities over the next six months.
The government expects the increased activity to contribute to infrastructure development in the state. Singh stressed that the government would provide all necessary security support to facilitate and speed up the work, if required.

Security agencies were instructed to ensure that ongoing infrastructure development projects are not hindered and that adequate security is provided at project sites.
The meeting was attended by Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam; Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh; Chief Secretary Rajeev Singh Thakur; DGP Mukesh Singh; Commissioner of Home N Ashok Kumar; Inspector General, Assam Rifles (South), Major General Gaurav Sharma; Inspector General, Assam Rifles (East), Major General Inderjit Singh Bhinder; Inspector General, CRPF, Homkar Amol Vinukant; and officials from various security agencies.
