Imphal: In a significant boost to air connectivity in the northeastern region, including Manipur, SpiceJet is set to commence its flight operations to Imphal from February 10, 2026.
The airline will operate daily flights connecting Imphal with Kolkata, Guwahati, and Mumbai using Boeing 737 aircraft. The services aim to strengthen air links between Manipur and major metropolitan cities through key transit hubs.
According to SpiceJet, the inaugural services will enhance connectivity to the Northeast by providing seamless daily connections via Kolkata and Guwahati, with onward travel to Mumbai.
On Friday, a nine-member SpiceJet team led by its security head, arrived at Imphal International Airport to initiate operational preparations ahead of the launch.
In a Facebook post, Imphal Airport stated, “The SpiceJet team has finally arrived at Imphal International Airport to initiate operational preparations for the commencement of flight operations from 10th February 2026. SpiceJet will operate daily services from Imphal, providing connectivity to Guwahati and Kolkata, with onward connectivity to Mumbai via Kolkata.”
The latest development is expected to address Manipur’s currently limited air travel options and improve accessibility to major cities, benefiting passengers, businesses, and tourism in the region.
