Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Yanthungo Patton, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Advisor to the Government of Nagaland, Imkong L. Imchen.
In a message shared on social media, Patton described Imchen’s death as the loss of “one of Nagaland’s most respected and seasoned leaders and a guiding presence within the BJP4Nagaland family.”
He lauded the late leader’s decades of service, noting that Imchen “devoted his life to the service of the people, serving with distinction in various capacities.” Patton further added that Imchen’s “commitment to public welfare and sense of duty earned him the trust and respect of all who worked with him.”

Reflecting on Imchen’s legacy, Patton said the veteran leader “believed deeply in the promise of Nagaland—its people, its culture, and its future,” and that his integrity, humility, and perseverance “set a standard for leadership that will be remembered for years to come.”
Extending condolences on behalf of his family, Patton prayed for strength and comfort to Imchen’s loved ones and to the people of Nagaland who mourn his passing.
