Forty-five girl cadets from the brass band of 1 Assam Battalion NCC, St Francis De Sales (SFS) School, Guwahati, have been selected to represent the Northeast region at the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 in New Delhi.
This will be the second time that the school participates in the national event. The selection is being seen as recognition of the cadets’ consistent performance and discipline under the guidance of their mentor, Dilip Subedi.

Principal Rev. Fr. George Thomas said the selection reflected the school’s emphasis on teamwork and perseverance. He said the cadets had “proven that with determination and the right guidance, excellence naturally follows,” adding that the school was proud to see its students represent the Northeast at a national level.
The achievement was made possible through continued support from the NCC authorities, school management, and instructors of the 1 Assam Battalion NCC, who have been instrumental in training and preparing the cadets for the national camp.
