Sonam Raghuvanshi in Weisawdong for crime scene reconstruction

Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, along with three others, were brought to the Weisawdong parking lot on June 17. The four have been brought to the location to conduct a crime scene recreation by Meghalaya police.

All the accused were brought amid the presence of heavy security. Police also informed that the co-accused and alleged mastermind of the murder, Raj Kushwaha, has not been included in the exercise.

The exercise began at approximately 11 AM, where the accused were first taken to Mawlakhiat, a hamlet in Shella Bholaganj in East Khasi Hills District. The team reached Weisawdong at around 1:45 PM, where the crime scene recreation is currently underway. The four have been taken near the gorge where Raja’s body was found on June 2.

The purpose of the recreation is to better understand the sequence of events leading to the murder. The police have not disclosed how long the exercise will take, but have confirmed that all necessary precautions are in place.
