Kohima: The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) declared the results for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examinations 2025 on Friday.
In the HSLC Examination, Lungyihangle Nring from St. Paul Higher Secondary School, Dimapur emerged as the state topper with an impressive score of 98.67%.
A total of 5,453 students from government schools appeared for the HSLC examination, of which 48.41% passed.
Meanwhile, 15,976 students from private schools took the exam, recording a significantly higher pass percentage of 87.64%. Among 884 repeater candidates, only 14.59% managed to qualify.
In the HSSLC Examination, Vikhono Senotsu from Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma, Kohima topped the Arts stream with 96.20%, while Arti Kumari from Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, Dimapur secured the top position in the Commerce stream with 94.60%.
In the Science stream, Snigtha Mukherjee from St. John Higher Secondary Residential School led with 93.40%.
Enrollment numbers for HSSLC were 12,404 in the Arts stream, 1,027 in Commerce, and 3,218 in Science. The overall pass percentages stood at 84.05% for Arts, 81.40% for Commerce, and 76.54% for Science.
A total of 97 centres were set up for the HSLC examinations and 68 for the HSSLC exams across the state.
Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio took to X to congratulate the meritorious students stating, “Congratulations to all who have successfully cleared the HSLC & HSSLC examinations 2025 under @nbsenagaland. Your achievement is a testament to your dedication, hard work, & pursuit of excellence. I encourage those who couldn’t clear the exams to stay determined & not lose hope.”
