The WWE has announced that it will move its NXT Battleground event to Las Vegas. The event, which will take place at the UFC Apex on June 9, 2024, marks the first time that the WWE will be hosting a pay-per-view event at the 130,000-square-foot UFC venue.
“We are always exploring new frontiers to showcase NXT and we are excited to bring Battleground to this world-class event and production facility in partnership with UFC,” said WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels.
The NXT Battleground event will build for the June 9 date, with the WWE & UFC’s parent company TKO Group Holdings announcing the move on Monday. The event is a pay-per-view event, which was founded in 2013 and has been revived by the WWE as part of its efforts to merge with the UFC under TKO in 2023.
“The state-of-the-art UFC Apex has been home to so many incredible events… and for the first time ever, on June 9, WWE becomes part of that. Huge thanks to UFC and Dana White for their partnership in bringing NXT Battleground to Vegas,” WWE Chief Operating Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque wrote on X.

The UFC Apex opened in 2019 and underwent renovations in 2022. The venue has previously hosted several UFC events since the COVID-enforced closed-door shows but has not featured a WWE event since the merger with the UFC.
