Aamir Khan denies plans to make movie on Raja–Sonam Raghuvanshi case

Aamir Khan has dismissed speculation that he is developing a film inspired by the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, calling the reports “completely untrue.”

Recent online claims suggested that the actor was closely monitoring the murder investigation involving newlyweds Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi and had shown interest in adapting the case into a crime thriller. However, Khan clarified that no such project was in the works. “There is absolutely no truth to it,” he said, as reported by Free Press Journal.

The murder case has drawn national attention after 30-year-old Raja Raghuvanshi was found dead during a honeymoon trip to Meghalaya. His wife, Sonam, was arrested for allegedly orchestrating the murder with the help of accomplices, including a man identified as Raj Kushwaha.

According to Economic Times, there had been suggestions that Khan’s team was reviewing media reports, police files, and video footage for a potential film project. But Khan’s production company confirmed that these claims were unfounded.

Khan recently starred in Sitaare Zameen Par, a film about a basketball coach working with neurodivergent adults, and is expected to appear in a cameo in a Tamil action film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj alongside Rajinikanth.
