Jorhat: Six persons who tested positive for COVID-19 in Assam’s Jorhat district in the last four days had taken the shot for COVID-19 vaccination, it has been revealed.
Confirming the development, Deputy Commissioner of Jorhat, Roshani A Korati said, five positive patients had taken the first dose while one had taken both the doses of COVID-19 vaccination.
“Those tested positive have been admitted at Jorhat Medical College Hospital. One of them is under home isolation,” added Korati.

According to sources, those who tested positive include a PSO of the general observer for Jorhat, who had taken the first shot of vaccination on February 26, and a 51-year-old CISF personnel. “The CISF personnel, who was posted at Rowriah airport in Jorhat, had taken both the doses on February 11 and March 12 but was tested COVID-19 positive on March 15.”
“The rest four patients, two from Khound family (resident of Atila Gaon in Jorhat) and two from Saikia family (resident of Na-Ali in Jorhat), all above 60, took vaccination (first dose) on March 4 and were tested positive on March 14 after they were tested for the virus following complains of diarrhea and uneasiness,” the source added.
“Five patients were given Covishield vaccine, while one received the Covaxin jab,” the source added.
