Comic Con India is set to make its Northeast debut, with Guwahati hosting a two-day pop culture festival on November 22 and 23. The event will bring together international guests, leading Indian artists, performers and gaming personalities for its maiden edition in the region.
Comic Con India CEO Shefali Johnson said the first Guwahati edition will feature Bill Golliher, the long-time Archie Comics writer and artist whose work has shaped characters such as Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Sixteen Indian creators will also be part of the line-up. Among them are Arunachal Pradesh illustrator Tadam Gyadu, known for collaborations with major global and domestic publishers, and Assam-based digital artist Debojyoti Choudhury, whose culture-centred visual work has built him a strong online following and several brand partnerships.

The festival will include performances by stand-up comedians Anirban Dasgupta and Krishnendu Paul, along with rappers and singers EPR Iyer, MC Headshot, Kai RJ and Guwahati’s Unity One Crew.
Johnson said the Guwahati event aims to offer the Northeast a platform for creativity and self-expression, combining comics, gaming, music and cosplay in a format designed to appeal to the region’s youth. She said Comic Con’s arrival in the city is intended to create an accessible space that honours both global fandoms and local culture.
NODWIN Gaming co-founder and managing director Akshat Rathee said fans from the Northeast have long travelled to Comic Cons across India, often drawing attention for their enthusiasm and creativity. Hosting the festival in Guwahati, he said, ensures that local communities can now participate without the need to travel.
The gaming segment will feature well-known esports creator Scout (Tanmay Singh), who will interact with fans, take part in live gaming challenges and discuss his journey in India’s expanding esports ecosystem.
