The campaign began just days after Zubeen’s sudden and heartbreaking death on 19 September 2025 in Singapore. Authorities initially stated that the singer-actor had died by drowning, but fans and close family members questioned the official explanation, pointing to several inconsistencies surrounding the incident.
The hashtag #JusticeForZubeenGarg first surfaced on 22 September, as heartbroken admirers flooded Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram, demanding a transparent investigation. What began as scattered posts of grief soon evolved into a unified call for accountability.
Zubeen was not just a music legend; he was the heartbeat of Assam. His songs spoke to every generation, and his activism often gave voice to the voiceless. That is why his death felt personal to millions.
The growing belief that the circumstances of his death were not fully revealed became the driving force behind the campaign. Fans demanded clarity: Who was with him that night? What really happened aboard that yacht? Why were details of the investigation unclear?
