Tezpur: Tezpur University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), Vladivostok, Russia, to expand collaboration in research, academics, and cultural exchange. The agreement was formalised on September 3, 2025, on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, and Prof. Evgeny E. Vlasov, Vice President for International Relations at FEFU, in the presence of Prof. Subhrangshu Sekhar Sarkar, Director of International Affairs, Tezpur University.
The five-year agreement outlines joint initiatives such as dual degree programs in Construction and Civil Engineering, collaborative research in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and related fields, as well as student and faculty exchanges, joint conferences, cultural programs, and field trips.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Singh highlighted the unique strengths of both nations in engineering and research. “Russia has a remarkable tradition of engineering resilience, born from extreme climatic conditions, while Indian engineers have honed their skills in executing large-scale projects swiftly within constraints. This partnership offers an opportunity to nurture a new generation of engineers who are both innovative and adaptable,” he said.
He added that the collaboration would broaden opportunities for Tezpur University students by exposing them to diverse educational ecosystems and global problem-solving approaches.
